HOME			Freebie DVD's
			In recent years thre has been a trend amongst newspaper and magazine publishers to run 'Free CD/DVD' promotions, in an attempt to boost circulation and sales. The whole thing started off with 'free' CD's - usually containing hits from the past, tracks from unsigned performers or 'exclusive samples' from an artist with a new album to promote. Things have moved on now and, although a quick look in a newsagent at the weekend will reveal any number of 'free' CD's, the current craze is for 'free' DVD's; these range from trailers and other promotional material for an upcoming cinema or DVD release, to complete episodes of TV series or even films. TV discs usually consist of 1 complete episode, with possibly some trailers or other 'extras' to pad it out - often issued as part of a box set promotion. I don't have as many of the TV show DVD's as I have of the film discs - this is mainly because a) I prefer to collect the films and b) the TV show discs tend to be parts of sets, most of which have to be claimed by handing a voucher in at a chain store I can't get to during the week.		Two newspapers tend to do most of this sort of thing - The Mirror and the Daily Mail; The Sun has also done this sort of offer in the past, usually involving Woolworths though their recent (at time of writing) offer of 50 films on 12 DVD Discs was at a newsagent chain I pass on my way to work! I haven't included issue dates for most TV shows. 			These are scans of the DVD's in my collection - where possible I've included details of which newspaper or magazine the disc came with and links to imdb.com for further information about the film/tv series on the disc.  To see the imdb.com entry, just click on the name of the DVD (under the scan!)		None of these are currently for sale, so please save your fingers and don't send me emails asking!  If you are keen to get hold of any of them, however, try looking on eBay.co.uk (link provided!) where you might find some of them on sale for quite reasonable prices!
