"Journey" has been adapted many times
before, perhaps most famously by musician Rick Wakeman, (whose most recent
recording, "Return to the Centre of the Earth" featured another Star Trek
star, Patrick Stewart, as Narrator). This recording, however, is
an adaptation of the original novel by Jules Verne, and stars Leonard Nimoy
ad Professor Lidenbrock and John de Lancie as his nephew, Axel. Roxann
Dawson (Torres in "Voyager") plays Axel's fiance and other characters are
played by members of the cast. This adaptation concentrates more
on the 'action' sequences in the novel, and plays rather well. The
sound effects are excellently done, with the listener getting a good sense
of being underground..
