Star Trek The Next Generation, the long awaited 'return' of Trek to TV screens has by far the most sets issued of any of the Trek series; Impel started the ball rolling with the "Inaugural"editionfollowed (following a corporate name change to Skybox and thenFleer Skybox) by a set for each of the seven seasons and (most recently) a "Profiles" set.
The "Season Seven" and "Profiles" setsfeatured autographs by everyone except Michael Dorn (Worf); Profiles was one of three sets issued in 2000 to feature a new kind of chase (for non-sportscards at least); a "Star Threads" card which contained a small piece ofa costume namely "Captain Picard's" uniform (the other sets to do this were Rittenhouse Archive's "Farscape" and Topps "X Men The Movie")

In 2001, Rittenhouse Archive took over the Star Trek card licence and in 2006 issued a set to mark the 40th anniversary of the 'franchise' (including contrubutions from TNG).

The trend towards the end of 2000 wasto have a card containing a piece of costume from the TV series of film the trading cards were based on.  Skybox joined in with this the"Star Threads" card which contained a piece of Captain Picard's uniform as worn by Patrick Stewart in the TV Series. The cards were limited and individually numbered to 2500 (this card is 1179/2500) and there were three different cards, one all black (as above) one all red and one red and black. Completists of course want all three!
Star Trek 40 (Rittenhouse Archive 2006) C30 To mark the 40th anniversary of Star Trek, Rittenhouse Archive released a set covering all 5 series and the movies; included in the set were "From The Archive" costume cards containing pieces of various costumes used in the 40 years of Trek.  This card contains a piece of material from Chief O'Briens costume - apparently there are two different versions of this card, the other being yellow... (See the TOS page for another card from this set)
