My Favourite Trading Cards
X-Men The Movie
When "X-Men The Movie" came out in 2000, I quickly bought a box, despite not being a fan of the comic book.  I realised that this film could be either a huge success or a huge flop; either way, it had autographs from Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen, and so was something of a must.  Although I didn't get the autograph cards of the former, I DID get some of the others and all of the (by now fashionable in Non-Sport cards) 'Memorabilia' cards, where a piece of costume used in the film was cut up and incorporated into a trading card.
As and when I get any of the other autographs, I'll add them here.

UPDATE!  In 2003  the second X-Men movie 'X2' was released, and Topps once again issued a set of trading cards.  This time there were 3 'memorabilia' cards, and a number of autographs.

The latest fashion in Non-Sport trading card 'Premiums' appears to be 'memorabilia' cards, where pieces of costume are stuck to a limited edition card.  In 2000, Rittenhouse Archive was first with their Farscape inserts, closely followed by Fleer Skybox with the TNG Profiles "Star Threads" card (pieces of Captain Picard's uniform) and Topps with the above, from their X-Men The Movie set.  There are 4 different cards;
The material on all 4 cards is some type of leather (or leather-like!)
1 - is taken from Jean Grey's costume as worn by actress Famke Janssen
2 -  is taken from Cyclops'  costume as worn by actor James Marsden.  This card is thicker than the Jean Grey and Storm cards; presumably the material is thicker.
3 - is taken from Storm's costume as worn by actress Halle Berry.
4 - is taken from Wolverine's  costume as worn by actor Hugh Jackman.  Like the Cyclops card, this is thicker than the Jean Grey and Storm cards.
