Tilling Society 20th Rye Gathering
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the 20th Rye Gathering of the Tilling Society, for which a sizable gurst list had been compiled (including 3 actors who have appeared professionally in adaptations of E.F.Benson's works - Prunella Scales, Geoffrey Chater and Charles Grant)
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I did not take as many pictures as usual, but I did manage to get a couple at the Lunch and at the Evening Concert Party!

Lunch

Left to Right - Daniel Thorndike and Prunella Scaales enjoy a comment by Cynthia Reavell in her lunchtime speech; Prunella Scales proposing the toast with Cynthia and Tony Reavell looking on.

Evening Concert Party

Tony Reavell (Major Mapp-Flint) and Dilys Mayor (Mrs. Mapp-Flint); Bjorn Johansen performing "Thank you so much, Mrs Lowsborough-Goodby" by Cole Porter; Fay Pedder (Mrs Bartlett 'Wee Wifie') plays 'Perdita'

Interval Supper - Miss Leg, Quaint1 and Siriami; David Roman (as Herbert Reeve) and Tony Reavell (as General Gland) perform "A Ring of Bells for General Gland" by Henry Reed; Tom Burnett performs "I'm A Gigolo" by Cole Porter

Cynthia Reavell performs "A Seasick Passenger, with an ornage", but in this instance with a grapefruit(!); Bjorn Johansen and Tom Burnett perform the E.F.Benson short story "Atmospherics"; Stephen Pile performs an impromptu monologue in the style of Stanley Holloway; the assembles cast lead the audience in a revised, Tillingite, version of "Land of Hope and Glory.

Not pictured, due to my being too close to them, are Damien Farrell and the 'Royal Sutton Trio", who creditably(!) performed all of the musical accompaniments, as well as several highly entertaining and decidedly familiar musical items!
